Robert George           

PROFESSOR ROBERT GEORGE

Robert P. George is the McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence and Director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University.  He is the Chairman of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.  He has served on the President’s Council on Bioethics and as a presidential appointee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights. A graduate of Swarthmore College and Harvard Law School, Professor George also earned a master’s degree in theology from Harvard and a doctorate in philosophy of law from Oxford University, which he attended on a Knox Scholarship from Harvard.  He is a former Judicial Fellow at the Supreme Court of the United States, where he received the Justice Tom C. Clark Award.

   

ANDY CROUCH

Andy is the author of Playing God: Redeeming the Gift of Power, published in October 2013. His book Culture Making: Recovering Our Creative Calling won Christianity Today’s 2009 Book Award for Christianity and Culture and was named one of the best books of 2008 by Publishers Weekly, Relevant, Outreach and Leadership. In December 2012 he became executive editor of Christianity Today. Andy serves on the governing boards of Fuller Theological Seminary and Equitas Group, a philanthropic organization focused on ending child exploitation in Haiti and Southeast Asia. From 1998 to 2003, Andy was the editor-in-chief of re:generation quarterly, a magazine for an emerging generation of culturally creative Christians. For ten years he was a campus minister with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Harvard University.

Russ Moore  

DR. RUSSELL MOORE 

Russell D. Moore is President of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, the Southern Baptist Convention's official entity assigned to address social, moral, and ethical concerns. A widely-sought cultural commentator, Dr. Moore speaks frequently to issues of theology, culture, and public policy. Dr. Moore holds an M.Div in Biblical Studies from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Ph.D in Systematic Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He blogs frequently at his "Moore to the Point" website, and is author or editor of five books, including Tempted and Tried: Temptation and the Triumph of Christ and Adopted for LIfe: The Priority of Adoption for Christian Families and Churches. Prior to entering ministry, Dr. Moore was an aide to U.S. Congressman Gene Taylor. A native Mississippian, he and his wife Maria are the parents of five boys.

JOHN STONESTREET

John Stonestreet is a Speaker and Fellow of the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview. He is a gifted communicator on areas of faith and culture, theology, worldview, education, and apologetics, and is a sought-after speaker at conferences, colleges, churches, schools, and other various gatherings each year.  He is hte co-host with Eric Metaxas of BreakPoint, the Christian worldview radio program founded by the late Chuck Colson, and the voice of The Point, a daily natoinal radio feature on worldview, apologetics and cultural issues.  He also serves as a Senior Content Advisor for Summit Ministries in Manitou Springs, Colorado.  John holds degrees from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Illinois) and Bryan College (Tennessee), and is the co-author of Making Sense of Your World: A Biblical Worldview (Sheffield Press).  He and his wife Sarah have three daughters and a dog, and live in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

 

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY PANEL DISCUSSION

“WILL RELIGIOUS LIBERTY SURVIVE?”

All CLS conference attendees will have the opportunity to take part in the Friday morning two-hour main session. It will be a panel discussion by religious liberty advocates about the future of religious liberty in America. They will discuss the current state of the law, highlight brewing cases, and speculate on where the U.S. Supreme Court may be headed. They also will take questions from the audience.
