CLS National Conference

CLS members, lawyers, law students, legal aid practitioners, and friends gathered in Boston for the CLS national conference to hear speakers (Prof. Robert George, John Stonestreet, Andy Crouch, and Russ Moore), attend workshops, and fellowship.

8/28/14 - New Hampshire Win

The New Hampshire Supreme Court upheld school choice, including religious schools, for low-income families.  CLS filed on behalf of over two dozen religious schools in the case.

CLS joined a brief in EEOC v. Abercrombie & Fitch supporting workplace religious freedom.

The U.S. Supreme Court delivered a victory to religious, closely-held, for-profit companies.  CLS brief was mentioned at oral argument for its explanation of why the Religious Freedom Restoration Act applied to the companies.  Opinion is here >>

The U.S. Supreme Court delivered a victory today for pro-life speech on public sidewalks in Massachusetts.  CLS filed a brief last September on behalf of a coalition of religious organizations. Read full press release >>

The CLS Board of Directors met in Herndon, Virginia for two days of prayer, discussions, and decisions for CLS. 

6/16/14 - Supreme Court Decision in Driehaus

The U.S. Supreme Court found in favor of Susan B. Anthony List, allowing them to proceed to challenge an Ohio law concerning political speech.  CLS filed a brief in favor of Susan B. Anthony List.  The opinion is here

The name of our ministry is Christian Legal Aid of Southern Arizona.  Our mission is help the GRM residents resolve any of their outstanding legal issues by the time they leave the GRM, so they can re-enter society as productive citizens with no open arrest warrants or open legal cases.
