The Gift, Estate and Trust Section of the Christian Legal Society is pleased to announce the Institute for Christian Gift Planning. The Institute is designed for Christian attorneys who are interested in gift and estate planning with a Christ-centered worldview. The Institute registration cost will provide CLE credit, including one hour of ethics, and will feature a variety of presentations addressing stewardship and practice related issues, as well as the legal and technical considerations of gift, estate and trust planning. The presentations will cover both basic and advanced planning issues and concepts.The Institute topics will include: 1) Current Developments and Case Studies in Charitable Planned Giving; 2) Gifting Opportunities for Closely-held Business Owners; 3) Charitable Planning for the Modest Estate; 4) Developing and Marketing a Kingdom Focused Practice; 5) Charitable Planning with Life Insurance; 6) Planning for Large Estates—Designing a Zero Estate Tax Plan; 7) Comparing and Contrasting Charitable Vehicles—Donor Advised Funds, Supporting Organizations and Private Foundations; 8) Using Charitable Trusts to Minimize Income Taxes and Build a Charitable Legacy.
In addition to providing legal training, the Institute will offer information on the Gift, Estate & Trust Section of the Christian Legal Society. In creating this section, the co-sponsors, CLS and National Christian Foundation, are responding to a growing need expressed by Christian ministries, churches and others for help in identifying technically competent, Christian planning counsel.
