. . . at the crossroads of law and life

What happens when Christian attorneys become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ in their primary mission field—their workplace? What happens when Christ-following men and women in the study and practice of law, along with their families:

- Believe what Jesus believed (with transformed minds)

- Live the way Jesus lived (with transformed character)

- Love and care the way Jesus did (with transformed relationships)

- Minister the way Jesus ministered (with transformed service)

- And Lead the way Jesus led (with transformed influence)?

Perhaps an even more provocative question is what happens if none of these aspirations were being faithfully pursued thereby leaving Jesus without effective witnesses in the legal marketplace? Would you want to live in such a country? Neither would we. That’s why CLS is here and that is the focus of our 2005 national conference — following Jesus and bearing witness of Him as the best way through law and life — not just for ourselves but for the sake of generations to follow.

If you are standing at the crossroads of law and life hopefully looking for this road less traveled – this way of Jesus in the study and practice of law, you will be enabled, encouraged and equipped at the 2005 CLS National Conference. If you are growing weary in well-doing and need a place of renewal and refreshment, come and rest with us. If you are going at the "speed of fright" and "busy" is your middle name, plan now to join us then for a more leisurely time of reflection about where the road of your life is leading and what resources will be needed for you to finish well. If you and your family are looking for a great place to be together with other families with like-minded interests for some food, fun and Christian fellowship, this conference is also for you

We invite you to read further, talk it over with your spouse, your children, your classmates, your law partners and associates. Don’t just come alone, bring a friend! Would it not be very good to go to a four-star, seaside resort on Southwest Florida’s Paradise Coast for a reasonable price at a beautiful time of year when the beach is quiet— for a time of rest for soul and body, of fun with your spouse (or your entire family), of spiritual formation, of marriage and family enrichment, and of professional improvement? Would it not be wonderful to stroll the beach, play a little golf, hear encouraging testimony of God’s goodness, listen to world-class speakers and teachers, greet old friends and meet new ones. Please join us. We expect more than 700 kindred spirits…law professors, judges, law students, international visitors, public interest lawyers, large and small firm practitioners, attorneys with their spouses for a romantic get-away weekend, even entire law firms on spiritual retreat! Everyone is welcome.

The CLS and Registry Resort staffs are prepared and looking forward to serving you. Naples and South Florida await you. As you can learn as you read further, we have a spiritually enriching, intellectually stimulating and recreationally satisfying program of activities, workshops and free time for everyone

It is our prayer that more CLS members and their families will attend this conference and return home renewed and refreshed than ever before. Please register early to assure your reservation since our pre-conference brochure registrations are already running way ahead of previous years. We look forward to seeing you.

Grace and peace,
