Law professors from Ave Maria, Pepperdine, and Regent will lead the discussion on two related topics: First, what does it mean to be a Christian lawyer and scholar who "does justice, loves mercy, and walks humbly with God"? Second, how do—and how should—scholars approach the hot topics of the so-called "culture wars"? Breakfast and dinner meals are provided with your CLS conference registration. Those who register for the Scholars’ Symposium are invited to join the luncheon featuring Jamie Lash on Saturday. The Symposium is open to professors, students, legislators, and practicing lawyers who seek truth in their teaching, scholarship, and work. 1:30 - 3:15 pm Micah 6:8 and the Christian Lawyer. What is the role of the Christian scholar in the current debate regarding various hot political and cultural issues today? Is there a line between law and politics that is implicated? Is the "culture war" to be avoided? Are there areas in which a Christian perspective helps bring peace, resolution, or revolution? . |
