Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity "Breathtaking Decisions" Seminar
8 am - 5 pm, Thursday, October 28, 2004
This seminar, co-hosted by CLS, presents a very special opportunity to receive a complete "briefing" and interactive
dialogue regarding the crucial bioethical challenges facing the world today. Attendees will be equipped from a Christian
perspective to think in a well-informed and cogent manner about such vital bioethical matters as end-of life treatment,
assisted suicide, euthanasia, genetic intervention, assisted reproduction and human embryo adoption, cloning and stem cell
research. They will be given ethical tools to think through these and other bioethical questions that will arise in their
client's lives, their own lives, the lives of their loved ones, or in society at large. Instructors are: Wesley Smith, J.D.,
author, The Culture of Death, and Fellow, the Discovery Institute; Edmund Pellegrino, M.D., Director Emeritus, the Center for
Clinical Bioethics at Georgetown University, and recipient of 42 honorary doctoral degrees and other awards; and CLS member
Paige Cunningham, J.D., CBHD Senior Fellow and founding president of Americans United For Life. This seminar can also be taken
for 2-3 graduate semester hours of academic credit either in the Bioethics Degree Program of Trinity International University
or transferred to another school (call 888-246-3844 for syllabus).
