Prayer & Praise Newsletter
PETITIONS
- Last week Center Attorneys filed a lawsuit against the University of Montana School of Law challenging its decision to derecognize a Christian Legal Society student chapter. Members of the Student Bar Association who opposed CLS' recognition claimed that it was "discrimination" for the student chapter to forbid voting members and leaders from engaging in sexual relationships outside of marriage. Please pray for CLS members at the University of Montana as they begin their fight for recognition in the Federal District Court.
- Please pray for Brothers Under Christ (BYX), a Christian Fraternity at the University of Florida, which has been denied recognition because it asks members and leaders to profess and live by a statement of faith in Christ. As one semester ends and the next begins, they are still without the ability to meet on campus and they will be forced to miss their spring recruitment event scheduled for January 22nd. Furthermore, please pray for the judge in the Northern District of Florida as he considers our motion seeking an injunction to require recognition by the university. Ask God to grant him wisdom and discernment that he might affirm the Fraternity's right to equal treatment under the law.
PRAISES
- Praise God that we have entered the season of Christ's birth! Despite the commotion which characterizes this time of year, let us remember to keep a grateful spirit within our hearts as we celebrate His humble birth in Bethlehem's manger. Let us rejoice in His coming and ask Him to renew the virtues of faith, hope, and charity in our communities and throughout the nation. May God bless you and guide you through this Christmas Season and into the New Year!
Thank you for your intercession. Gregory S. Baylor
